01 LITHGOW all my close friends are tired of feeling alone let it leak into desk drawers and craigslist furniture let us now go around and we’ll say what we’re thankful for we’ve all got our wits strapped tightly about us we’re all smart people about whom only good things are said but the bottom line is that i don’t trust none of you at the end of the day i’ll be scrambling out the bathroom window aren’t you sick of all the mirroring? of making up your mind? of having to explain yourself? goddamn, i’m so sick of fanfare and making up with everybody who sees fit to fix my shit me and all my friends are home sick and tired of home (you and yours are welcome to stay — we’ll say grace)

unfair to expect kindness unfair to expect a self-aware dialogue unfair to expect a finished thought unfair to expect respect unfair to expect clarity in the aftermath unfair to expect to be fed unfair to expect not to be eaten unfair to expect everything to be where it should a glancing blow off my chest a catholic school spelling test unfair to expect shorter grass unfair to expect a free tire unfair to expect a free car unfair to expect two arms instead of one unfair to expect a back room unfair to expect to be met halfway unfair to expect to be looked in the proverbial eye an alteration in the plans a wrong-way-spinning ceiling fan dirty clothes beside toy trucks a punch is aimed for your chest, but you duck

do you want the best for everyone? sweating in the moonlight your bicker-brain goes back and forth between a dream wherein you’re tired and a life of which you’re bored too much time to yourself you’re forced to focus on other things it’s not good for the man to be alone (without, within, all eyes on him) it’s not good for the man to be alone but he’ll not beg to be let in
