Crystal Bridge b/w Obedience School

by G.I. Bill

/
1.
light so bright it burns through the back of my head but i find it’s just the sun off your hair instead as world slow-spins i’m down in the lonely place, the low-down place with that face i hate where my true lost love is miles away underneath the crystal bridge i thought about my parents saying their vows not religious but i’ve been praying not often in my time things have all worked out but it’s not the bit that leads the horse; it’s the promise that the bit will leave its mouth underneath the crystal bridge i thought about my parents saying their vows a mobile above our young heads in the walnut trees of our young days
2.
i bark on the chain and i thrash around our young bird of “We Should Be” is pooling on the ground i hear you call from the other room the leaves from my window move like you i hear you call from the other room, but you know Day Job’s got me feeling blue i to i from 99 degrees to 10,000 blues when you make a plan and i recoil your voice changes and i notice (i know i get that way, i know it’s true, but if you tell me again i don’t know what i’ll do i could stand in the back of the house we built and i could tear it down, each unfeeling brick by brick)
